Nautilus are part of the class of invertebrates–animals lacking a backbone–called cephalopods, which are considered to be the most intelligent of all invertebrates. They have remained relatively unchanged for millions of years, many consider them to be living fossils. Nautiluses tend to have the most amount of tentacles among the cephalopods, in some cases they can have up to 90 tentacles and can crawl on land or along the seafloor.
