Leafy Seadragons are endemic to Australia. Their leafy appendages are not used for swimming but used as camouflage. To move about they have small translucent fins along the sides of their head and down the dorsal side of their bodies. The numbers of these beautiful creatures were beginning to decline due to illegal collection and habitat destruction. They are now considered to be a protected species.
