Jellyfish species can range in size from a few centimeters in diameter to having a bell size as large as 8ft in diameter and trailing tentacles that can reach over 200ft long. Jellyfish do not have hearts, bones, eyes, or brains, and are made up of 65% water. They rely on nerve cells and sensing organs to help them move and react in the water. To remain balanced in the water, jellies have special sacs located around the rim of their bells. When the jellyfish starts to list too far in one direction, the sacs stimulate nerve cells that contract muscles to help re-orient the jelly in the right direction.

The spotted jellyfish can reach up to 2ft in diameter and are found in the South Pacific, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The spotted jellyfish form a symbiotic relationship with algae that grows inside them, which can give the jelly a greenish-brown color.
